12U Softball
Woodbury 12U Softball is a developmental league for girls. Players will continue to advance their fundamental softball skills. All girls must have their own glove. Softball batting helmets (with face guard) and fielding facemasks are required but will be available for those who do not have their own.
Season Overview: 12U Softball teams will practice two nights per week. Typically, 8-12 games will be scheduled, predominantly on weekends, with neighboring towns. Some travel will be expected. Games are limited to one hour and 45 minutes. Girls pitch from 40 feet with an umpire calling balls, strikes, and outs. The league will not track wins and losses but games scores are kept.
Practices and games are held at Hollow Park.
Season Goals: It is the desire of WBS for players in the 12U Softball league to achieve the following:
- Gain a sense of accomplishment through improving their fundamental softball skills
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship and teamwork
- Have fun and a desire to continue playing softball
