10U Softball
Woodbury 10U Softball is a developmental league for girls. Players will continue to advance their fundamental softball skills as well as begin to develop pitching and catching fundamentals (for those girls interested in those positions). All girls must have their own glove. Softball batting helmets (with face guard) and fielding facemasks are required but will be available for those who do not have their own.
Season Overview: 10U Softball teams will practice one to two nights per week. Typically, 8-12 games will be scheduled, predominantly on weekends, with neighboring towns. Some travel will be expected. Games are limited to one hour and 45 minutes. Girls pitch from 35 feet with coach rescue (after the first walk) and an umpire call balls, strikes, and outs. The league will not track wins and losses but game scores are usually kept.
Games and practices are held at Hollow Park and a field in Bethlehem (TBD).
Season Goals: It is the desire of WBS for players in the 10U Softball league to achieve the following:
- Gain a sense of accomplishment through improving their fundamental softball skills
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship and teamwork
- Have fun and a desire to play next season
